Writing is an Adventure

This isn’t a polished, predictable journey.
It’s raw, unclear, and doesn’t always go the way you think it will.
You begin with a thread of thought, trying to follow it through—only to have it unravel and take you places you didn’t expect.
You fall in love with characters who live in your head, and feel the sting when they fall short of what you hoped for.
You step into scenes with no map, hoping like mad it all pulls together.
And sometimes, you get lost—only to find something better in the tangle.
It’s messy.
It’s slow.
The rewrites make you want to pull your hair out.
But there’s the thrill, too, when it all comes together.
The story consumes you day and night—yet you wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Once you're on this journey, you're never the same.
Writing changes you.
In all the best, hardest ways.
