Whether you’ve got a fully formatted file or are still figuring out what trim size even means, we’ll walk through it together with clarity and prayerful support.
This service is ideal for writers who want to retain control over their work but need a steady hand to walk with them through the technical side of publishing.
KDP Publishing Setup
Rate: $25/hour
I make the KDP process simple by guiding you through every stage—setting up your author account, selecting the right trim size, entering your title and keywords, choosing categories, setting pricing, and getting your book ready to launch.
E-Book Formatting
Rate: $25/hour
I handle the Kindle formatting process for you—ensuring your manuscript meets Amazon’s e-book standards with a polished interior layout, basic front and back matter, and a clickable table of contents when applicable.
ISBN Consultation
Price: $10 flat fee
Only charged if you're buying your own ISBN and need help registering or assigning it (typically through Bowker). This includes a short one-on-one session explaining how ISBNs work, how to connect them to your book, and when it makes sense to use your own vs. Amazon’s free option.
→ No charge if you’re using KDP’s free ISBN or already have one purchased and ready.

Story Coaching
Rate: $20/hour
Big-picture support to help you shape the heart of your story.
- If you're still figuring out your plot, pacing, or characters, this is where we talk it through. I’ll walk with you, offering insight and encouragement as you build your vision. This is light-touch, mentor-style guidance—not editing—meant to help you gain clarity and confidence before diving deeper.
Developmental Editing
Rate: $35/hour
Hands-on, heart-in work to strengthen your story’s foundation.
- This is where we roll up our sleeves. I’ll analyze your structure, scene flow, character arcs, consistency, and faith themes to help your story take shape from the inside out. It’s the most in-depth form of editing, perfect when you’re ready for honest feedback and real transformation.
Copy Editing
Rate: $25/hour
Grammar, punctuation, and technical clarity—so your story reads clean and professional.
Less creative, more corrective. I’ll make sure your manuscript is readable, consistent, and ready for the next phase. This is a mid-level polish with a technical focus.
Please note: Spoken Flame does not currently offer line editing (such as grammar correction or sentence-by-sentence fixes) or proofreading (final checks for typos, punctuation, or formatting). My role is to help you shape the story, strengthen your voice, and make sure everything flows with clarity and purpose. If you're looking for grammar polishing or final review, I recommend working with a dedicated line editor or proofreader after our work is complete.

This is a collaborative process — guided by your voice, your memories, and your purpose.
Full Writing Services
Rate: $40/hour
– For clients starting with little or no written material. We’ll begin from interviews, recordings, or verbal storytelling and develop a full manuscript under your direction. This is the most time and creation intensive tier.
Manuscript Shaping & Development
Rate: $35/hour
– For clients who already have journals, letters, notes, or rough content. We’ll use your material as a foundation and help turn it into a well-organized, publishable manuscript. This includes editing, bridging gaps, rearranging sections, and writing transitional content where needed.
Variable Project Estimate
– A general estimate can be provided after the initial consultation. Depending on the length and complexity of the work, total cost and timeline will vary. This work is highly personal and time-intensive, and pricing reflects the depth of care and craft involved.
Note: Spoken Flame does not offer anonymous ghostwriting. Because we help shape the structure and wording of your story, our name will appear on the project in some form—such as “written by,” “co-written with,” or “writing support by.” If the writing process is limited in a way that affects quality—such as restricting content choices or editorial input—we may instead be credited as a writing coach. Spoken Flame reserves the right to remove our name from any project that does not reflect our standards.
